Join us at the Science Sprint Event TODAY with Dr. Adam Simon (UMich) about the Electronic Graveyard!

Hello everyone!

Guess who is returning to be part of our Science Sprint event today: Dr. Adam Simon! He is the co-author of the case study we explored: “What is the solution to Ghana’s e-waste dilemma?” Dr. Meghan Wagner’s team went to Ghana to learn more about the unregulated electronic waste recycling. Electronics are dumped in Agbobloshire scrap yard, which is located 3 km from the capital city of Ghana. E-waste recycling has provided an informal economy for thousands of Ghanians to survive, however it is a toxic wasteland that is affecting Ghanians health.

Dr. Adam Simon is back to our campus (virtually) to talk about his experience in Ghana working with government officials to discuss the multifaceted issue that is electronic waste recycling. Revisit the case study beforehand: https://www.learngala.com/cases/ewaste-in-ghana. This is part two of NCSU’s Science Sprint and we would love to see you there!
