Welcome to Fall 2023 Biotechnology and Sustainability!

Within the logo, the leaves symbolize the diversity of ideas that we bring together in our learning community as captured within the lightbulb. In this course, we come together to solve biotechnology problems using microbiology!

Hello!

Welcome back to campus! We hope you are staying safe and healthy. We are getting ready to start BIT 295 Biotechnology & Sustainability! We, Dr. Carlos Goller and Dr. Hayden Huggins, are your instructors for this semester and you can get to know us by watching this short video introduction (~3 min) we created for you available on YouTube.

We are excited to use biotechnology to solve real-world problems and learn together! We created a short video (1 minute) available on YouTube and a graphic (below) describing the course structure for the BIT 295 Biotechnology & Sustainability course.

Diagram with bar with different stages: engage, apply, analyze, share, reflect and design are listed below icons for these activities.

You will have access to the Moodle course site on Monday, where you can find our syllabus and course map. We use Google Docs for guidelines, and you have commenting privileges. Feel free to ask questions! (We love student questions!)

We are so very excited to begin learning from one another in BIT 295. We welcome any and all questions you might have, so please do not hesitate to ask over email (Dr. Carlos Goller’s email: ccgoller@ncsu.edu, and Dr. Hayden Huggins email: hphuggin@ncsu.edu).

Stay safe: Wear a mask if you’d like, and wash your hands often!

Best,

Your BIT Instructional Team
