Lab Recap and Module 2 PowerNotes Collaborative Reading

Hello everyone!

Dr. Goller and Dr. Sjogren had so much fun pipetting and plate streaking with you today in Jordan Hall! You followed our Lab Protocols as training and gained the following new skills:

  • Lab safety and proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Pipetting with micropipettes
  • Bacterial plate streaking
  • Bacterial plate incubation

We list these skills with every lab we will do so that you are aware of skills you can put on your resume when applying to research internships on campus or for a future job!

Be sure to review the Critical Thinking Questions for Pipetting & Plate Streaking and try to answer these questions for yourself. If you have any questions, please share them using the Student Help Forum so that we can all learn together!

Thanks to excellent ideas shared by BIT 295 students, we have made a BIT 295 Biotechnology & Sustainability Fall 2022 Collective Resources folder in PowerNotes! You should have received an email from Dr. Goller inviting you to the project, OR you can add the project by logging in to PowerNotes and viewing your notifications (the bell icon in the top right). Please take notes using PowerNotes for this project so that we can annotate articles together!

Happy Tuesday! Stay safe as we continue to learn together!
